Ocean View

An ocean view can heal almost everything. For lunch today i went and got some fast food then i drove over to Del Mar Heights road. The road is a sort of a hill that drives down to the beach in Del Mar. But if you just pull over past the crest of the hill you get a great view of the ocean. So thats where i ate my lunch today. I listened to music in my car and stared off at the ocean. It was very tranquil. Hoping everyone else has some place they can regain some peace...

Wednesday

Im back at work and semi normalcy. I went out to Orange County sat for a halloween party. It was fun. Lots of kewl costumes and a fair amount of liquid libations. I had planned on going home sunday after watching some football games. But then the fires raged in california. and we had planned to go to the monday night football game in san diego. the fires changed that, and they moved the game to arizona. and my brother called a few times from san diego telling me not to come back for a while because of the smoke and stuff. so i stayed in OC till tues night. I had already taken mon and tues from work for the game and a recovery day. thats about it. Im back at work, and its dull and boring as usual.

And ive been trying to find some new direction in my life. Ive looked into getting an MBA, or doing construction, picking up a second job at ups, taking on new projects at work, im just looking for something that i cant find. Something to fill my energy and time. Anybody have suggestions?

Ohio

There are no asians in Ohio. Thats what i was told and thats what i encountered. First of all the flights... I forgot the tix at home. I had to arrange for a later flight. Then i drove home and picked up my tix and drove back. I had to have them since they were voucher tix. So now i fly from SD to Phoenix. Then from Phoenix to St Louis, then from St Louis to Columbus... are we having fun yet? Anyways on to the funny or sad or what not. I went to the rental booth to pick up my car. Inside the booth was a black man and is little kid. The little kid stares at me points and says LEE!!! and his dad is like what are you talking about we dont know him. And the kid says Lee from Rush Hour. and it clicks for me and Dad... he thinks im the character Lee from Rush Hour. Its the only other asian person he has ever seen, so he relates us together. He thinks im Jackie Chan... which in most cases id be like kewl im Jackie Chan... but in this case i think it was just sad that he could only related me to a movie character he had seen, because he has never seen another asian....

Word of the day...

Well not really of the day and not really just one word. I generally have phrases i used to get me through certain times in my life or to evoke some sort of reaction or reminders to myself. Things ive used in the past
Focus
Let it go
Grip it and rip it
Twitterpated
Clinical

And my current phrase is
Nothing to lose

And in most cases i think it will suffice. Just give it a try, what do you really have to lose. In most cases all i can really lose is my dignity or my pride, but ive lost those many times before and they are easily gained back... But i do have to temper that statement with another statement... nothing to gain... make sure there is a positive to gain from your efforts.

Voting...

I voted in the recall election for California Governor. And through all the hulla balloo over all the canidates i realized i still dont like any of them. I really didnt want Gray Davis though. I have felt the wonders of his tenure and im not sad to vote against him. My initial thought was to abstain. But i wanted to make the statement that i voted. So i went to the ballot and did a write in vote for Yoda. Yes the little green guy in star wars. Because in the end i think he could do a better job, and i trust him more.

For the record im a liberal republican, which in a lot of circles is a bad word, and can get me chastised by both sides of the fence. For the most part i think im republican, but im pro choice. Go figure. But i dont see how i as man am ever going to tell a woman what to do with her body. Im not too thrilled about capital punishment either unless its in the case of rape then i think we should remove them while we can, and thin out the herd.

Eh, i think thats enough im not too into spouting about politics. But in the least vote for your candidate whoever they may be even if theyre 3 feet tall and green.
